The stream of today’s service lacked audio for the first few minutes, so use this link to view the recording from the point at which audio became available. We join at a point where Rachel is reading from Psalm 8.
Today Rachel considered in her talk how it is possible for the kingdom of God to be both near to us (within reach), and yet also something to be anticipated in the future. Click here to jump to the start of Rachel’s talk.

The second song in today’s service was Brenton Brown’s well-known “Lord, reign in me”. But had you noticed, the last line of the refrain is actually “Lord, reign in me again” ? Does this strike a discordant note with you as it did for me? It is certainly my request and aim that the Lord should reign in me, but I’ve always thought of that as a progressive (and sometimes all too slow) process. So to what point in the past can we look back, when the Lord’s reign in us was something to which we can now only aspire? It seems to me that I can only honestly sing this song by omitting the last word of that line.
What about you?
