Today Jonathan moved onto a provocative passage: 1 Peter 2:11 – 3:7 on submission. This is not something celebrated in these self-assertive times, so we need to be clear on Peter’s central point. He is not promoting submission for its own sake, but for one over-riding purpose – that those around us might have reason to glorify God when they see how we behave.
